JIM HAMILTON

Jim Hamilton is the Founder of CityWest Advisors, LLC, an investment firm which pursues opportunistic and value-added strategies achieving superior risk-adjusted returns at the intersection of the real estate and capital markets.  Additionally, the firm provides commercial real estate investment and capital markets advisory services including acquisition underwriting, due diligence, financing, loan workouts, and asset value optimization.

Prior to founding CityWest Advisors, Jim was the Vice President of Acquisitions for Brixton Capital, where he was responsible for the sourcing, underwriting, structuring, due diligence, and investment strategy development for multifamily and commercial investments across Texas and the Western US.  This experience included the acquisition and disposition of over 20 multifamily and commercial properties totaling $800 million in value over a four- year period.

Prior to joining Brixton Capital, Jim spent 13 years acquiring and asset-managing office and multifamily properties throughout Southern California on behalf of two institutionally capitalized owner/operators. During this period, he led the transaction origination and execution and value-add business plan implementation on properties totaling over 5 million square feet and $628 million in value. 

Jim is a combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a Platoon Commander during Operation Desert Storm and was awarded a Navy Commendation Medal.

Jim is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, where he majored in Economics and Finance.  He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and is a member of NAIOP.
