PAT MCLAUGHLIN

Patrick E. McLaughlin is a Partner at Cypress Ascendant Holdings LLC. 

Prior to that, McLaughlin was Chief Development Officer for Quarter, Inc. a startup offering a cost-effective alternative method of financing homeownership by pairing homebuyers directly with investors as tenants in common. Quarter is a portfolio company of Cypress Ascendant Holdings. 

Previous to that, McLaughlin was a Managing Director of RockTop Partners, LLC, an alternative investment manager that specializes in distressed consumer credit markets. RockTop Partners went from a standing start in 2014 to $5B in invested by 2019. 

Before that, McLaughlin was President of First American Mortgage Services, the primary provider of national title solutions for residential mortgage originators and servicers within First American Title Insurance Company.  McLaughlin’s responsibilities included business development, operational management, expansion of strategic partnerships, and financial reporting in the lenders’ services segment.

McLaughlin initially joined First American Title in 1988 as associate counsel in Santa Ana, CA, and held various other executive operational and strategic positions in the company until his departure in 2013 to join Ursus Holdings, LLC. McLaughlin holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, a juris doctor from the University of San Francisco, and is also a member of the State Bar of California
